I had my bps tapped for a base. I have a red dot I used to use on it. took several birds with this set up. It works great.
Now I use my 870 turkey gun with factory fiber optic rifle type sights. they draw good light the batteries are never dead when I need them. and they are never turned off when I need them now.

You mean that we can't just shoot as many turkeys as we want???? We usually wait until they're sleeping in their trees and then open fire. You can kill a whole bunch that way!!!

For you Junior Internet Game Wardens out there that lose sleep when someone mentions a number greater than your single state allows -- I hunt Okla (3), Nebraska (3), South Dakota (3) and SD Indian Reservations. I actually didn't kill as many as I could have if I had wanted to drop more $$ on tags. To be honest, I believe that on the Indian Reservation, there's no limit on birds as long as you bought a tag.

I hope your poor nervous souls rest better tonight knowing that you received clarification that I am not out running amuk killing more birds than I am allowed. Good job, Junior Internet Game Wardens! You earned your badges!

Reflex red dot. Very bright sunlight can make a difference in the brightness level of the dot, even at the extreme brightness level of 7 versus lower level of one. In low light condition it is awesome. It has 4 different dots to choose from, are very inexpensive, and target acquisition is incredibly fast. If a bird was to come from your weak side, you can still shoot opposite handed, because it's as simple as pointing a dot to aim. No need to cheak the gun to line up the shot.

Of course I shot a bead all my life, and have absolutely no need for a red dot. This gun however shoots terribly high and left by using the beed and choke that comes with it. So it actually took an actual sight to get the gun to shoot where it should. It now shoots an incredibly tight pattern, and I am looking forward to this season's testing.
