I've never personally done the sighting in of a red dot for a shotgun, what is common practice? I've got a gun that throws shot pretty far left at 40yards with waterfowl loads so I know i'll need to adjust it. I know the forum is slow but here comes the season!

im getting more responses over on duckhuntingchat. kinda makes me think :headscratch: im asking the wrong bunch!

yeah, so I imagine i'll just shoot a big sheet of paper incrementally at 15, 25, and 35, adjusting the dot each time from center. when I think about it, the dot can be placed anywhere, and I know I can change shims to help move the impact as well which is half of why im asking. rifles don't have shims for the most part, though ive used various tools to help affect impact. this could go on forever...
