look up an alert pose with his back feathers ruffled and his fan half open. i have a rio mounted in alert and it shows off his tail feathers great along with his beautiful head. its unique . gobbling on a limb in half strut is beautiful also

All of the mounts look great! I really like the full cape idea. Im just starting to try my hand at taxidermy and love the ideas and pics. Thanks for sharing.

I like them any way they come. I see full mounts at work all day so I like something different. I got this one for my 2011 bird.

Doc, I gotta say, I am LIKING that "Wall Hanger" mount! I have never seen one like that before. Too cool!

Its called dead bird. After I got it back, I put my tag on his leg like I was after I shot him.

I think getting a mount of what the bird was doing when you shot him is cool. Mine was in a half strut on his way in to fight our Jake deke. So, that is how I had him mounted. Of course, he wasn't on a branch, but that made him easy to put on a wall. I like the half strut the most anyway, so this bird worked out perfectly. Cost was $550 by Wild Things Tax in Denver, I think Sam is a good taxidermist. Worth a call if you are in the area.
