lost meat?

Postby 2eagles » Thu Mar 22, 2012 9:17 am

When I shoot a deer with my bow I loose some meat because it gets too bloody around the entrance hole. Sometimes the blood flows between layers of meat and I cut most of that out too if it can't be cleaned up. Question is, when a turkey is killed with an arrow, how much meat is usually lost? OK, I know the head/neck shot looses none, but I'm asking about a body shot.

I don't think your going. To lose much at all there's only a few shots you take on a bird,head,legs,wings....your not going to hurt the meat at all.Rusty

Agreed, not too much, although I guess it depends on which broadhead you use.
