What gun do you use?

Just thought i would get a bit of a thread going on what everyone uses for their turkey hunting.

I mainly use an older Mossberg 835. Last season in FL i tried using my CVA Optima Pro muzzleloader but misjudged the distance and missed. I figure i will stick to using the shotgun.

I was told to use a FULL choke. I do have an EXTRA FULL turkey choke...should i use that instead?

A full choke is fine! Too much hipe of shotshells and chokes in my opinion. I've killed em with a full choke and high brass 6's. I do use an extra full choke with Win turkey loads # 5 in the spring...but use a factory full choke in the fall.( LITTLE MORE FORGIVING) just my .02

I'm still shooting my Stoeger 2000..........no issues at all.........extra full choke with #5's
for some extra distance go with wingmaster hd

I took a girl from bass pro out a few years ago and she smoked one with the wingmaster at 55 steps.....20 gauge

870, mod choke, shooting #4 copper plated lead shot. Smoked birds out to 40yds without issue. I have a extra full choke for it and have used it many times. It does pattern very tight and patterns better with the smaller shot, 5-6's. You full should be fine Ich.

In state I shoot a Benelli Nova 20 ga. with a Tru-Glo Gobbler Stopper red dot. Its has a Rhino choke and I run Nitro Company Hevi-Shot 5's through it. Out of state (and sometimes at home when a bird is being stubborn and a challenge is issued) I shoot a Remington 870 with a Tasco Pro Point red dot. It also is equipped with a Rhino choke and I feed it Nitro Company 4's x 5's x 7.5's. The 4's and 5's are lead and at the bottom the 7.5's are Hevi-Shot. Both are very deadly guns!! I use my waterfowl gun. It's a camo SX3 and I use my Drakekiller full choke with 3 1/2" #4's. I have killed plenty of birds with this combo. I am thinking of trying a custom extra full with #6 this off season to see how that patterns.

Have killed several turkeys with a pre-68 Rem.1100 Special Field(strait grip) 12 ga.The 23 in.barrel is choked as Mod.and (with #5 Hevi-Shot) it prints like a full choke on( a turkey head) target out to 35 yds....prrrrrfct !!.Most of my kills have been within 20yds.and at that range the gun prints like an xtra-full choke .

Mossberg 500 Carlsons Extended full choke (used xtra full last year)

Missed a nice tom last year as i called the tom in so close he ran at me and i ended up taking the shot at about 10 yards, i must have pulled the shot, but with an xtra full choke, my pattern had to be tiny at that distance, needless to say im going full choke this year
